Volunteers Needed to Serve on a Records Retention Task force and IT Integrated Business Solutions Task Force

We each have skills and knowledge that can help our co-operative and our fellow members. Serving on a task force is a good way to become involved - there are fewer meetings to attend, work can sometimes be done at a time of your convenience and from home, and a task force has a limited duration.

Volunteering your skills and expertise helps keep costs, and our fees, as low as possible.

Records Retention Task Force:

Do you have an interest in the history of GHI and a concern about its future? Do you have a detail-oriented aptitude, and a bent towards technological proficiency? GHI needs to create a records retention policy and manage the records accumulated over the life of the cooperative.

The Records Retention Task Force is assigned to identify and prepare a list of historical records that should be preserved, review the draft retention policy that staff prepared and recommend specific changes, and recommend where and how historical records should be retained.

We need several people with historic preservation or corporate records management backgrounds to examine categories of documents to decide historical or business value, decide on the appropriate retention schedule, and assist with appropriate storage. Work can be done in the GHI Administration building during normal business hours or in the evening during a work session. Hours and time commitment are flexible. There will be organizational and follow-up meetings.

IT Integrated Business Solutions Task Force

We need members with information technology, project management, or property management skills to help with an Integrated Business Solutions Task Force. The task force will expand on the work performed by the previous IT Taskforce to research and provide specific recommendations for upgrading our current technology systems that track financial, maintenance, customer relationships, vendor management, and warehouse operations in one unilateral system. This will involve analyzing cost and any required customization. The task force will interview software companies and assist in demonstrating possible software systems to staff.  Some work can be done from home at your convenience.  Time commitment is flexible. There will be organizational and follow-up meetings.
